The preparation of the feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the railway line Durrës – Pogradec – Lin and the construction of the new line Lin – border with Northern Macedonia (Corridor VIII) aims at the rehabilitation of the railway trunk Durrës – Pogradec – Lin (136 km) as well as the construction of a 2.8 km new railway line between the village of Lin and Northern Macedonia.
This investment will improve multimodal connections with Italy, through the Port of Durres (Albania), as well as with Northern Macedonia and Bulgaria.
The study is being prepared by the Infrastructure Project Structure (IPF 4), through a € 720,000 EU grant allocated by the WBIF, in June 2015.
